Addictions and Mental Health

This program helps students to develop the knowledge and skills required to effectively address two of Canada’s leading health care issues – mental health and addictive behaviors. With the issues growing on an exponential basis, the need for experts in this field is endless. Students will gain both a theoretical understanding and the clinical skills required to help clients successfully navigate their challenges with mental health and/or addictive behaviors as they begin their journey to wellness. Through first-hand experience students learn how to delicately handle these special cases, and handle the patients with care.

Computer Programmer Analyst

Today’s businesses and essential services depend highly on complex information and data management systems. Starting from simple business management to providing important business decisions, the usage of information technology is prevalent. Designing, developing and keeping business systems up-to-date with the business processes they support is the duty of programmer analysts. In a digitized world, the ingenuity and technical know-how of programmer analysts is in demand. This program specializes in allowing the students develop themselves through practical learning.

Accounting

Accounting is often referred to as the universal language of business. With the current over rise of various automated Accounting software systems and other such automations, the impact of thorough understanding of accounting is essential in properly running businesses. Durham College’s Accounting – Business program is the next step towards a career in the field of accounting. Students will have the opportunity to learn from industry-connected professors, develop their knowledge of accounting using the latest tools and technology in order to gain the skills employers need.
