Master of Science in Economics

By pursuing a Master of Science degree in Economics at the University of North Texas, students will be part of a program that hones their analytical skills for a rewarding career or prepares them for the rigors of a doctoral program in Economics. The necessary course work explores a variety of topics related to econometrics, mathematical approaches to economic theory, and microeconomic and macroeconomic theory. The Department of Economics offers more econometrics courses than 23 of the top 25 economics Ph.D. programs with specialties in econometrics. Students will learn from faculty members who publish in the field’s top journals and have earned prestigious teaching awards from the university and nationwide. Their research focuses on econometrics, applied microeconomics, applied macroeconomics, public economics and international economics.

Bachelor’s in Forensic Science

The Forensic Science certification program is available to Biology, Biochemistry or Chemistry majors. It is designed for students who intend to pursue a career in a crime laboratory or federal agency, and prepares students for medical school if they want to become a medical examiner. The strong curriculum follows the recommendations of the National Institute of Justice and primes them for the American Board of Criminalistics certification test. The university has the same cutting-edge equipment used in top crime labs across the nation. Uses range from gas chromatography-mass spectrometry for arson investigations to high-performance liquid chromatography for drug and trace analysis from a crime scene. The facilities include a new criminalistics lab specializing in fingerprint, ballistic and laser analysis.

Bachelor’s in Mechanical and Energy Engineering

The innovative curriculum of this course combines the fundamentals of mechanical engineering with broad specializations related to energy, manufacturing and design. The degree program is accredited by ABET. This distinction means the program meets or exceeds high standards of excellence in education.
