Anthropology is the scientific study of humanity and human culture. It is unique among the social sciences in that it focuses on all societies and all aspects of human physical, social and cultural life. The anthropology program goals and objectives have been developed to provide students with a broad introduction to the anthropological perspective including the cross-cultural and comparative approach.
Our program is designed to give you an opportunity to develop your technical skills, aesthetic awareness, personal expression, and critical analysis. In addition, you will study the history of art in both Western and non-Western cultures and art analysis, theory, and criticism. SWC offers transfer degrees in several areas, including art history, graphic design, and photography.
Designed to equip students with the knowledge, skills, practices, and values to understand the complex and changing global business environment. Individual courses promote comprehension of the field, foster problem solving, and provide basic analytical and conceptual skills. Lower-division requirements are not the same for all universities, and there are differences among the areas of specialization.
