The M.S. Biology program focuses on increasing depth of knowledge, engaging in state-of-the-art research techniques, and engaging in applications of content taught at the undergraduate level. Students have the option of either the Thesis or Non-Thesis track. The program emphasis is ecology and environmental science but open to any area within biology. SUNY Oneonta biology majors can choose from one general track and three specialized tracks: Liberal Arts-Biology, Ecology & Conservation Biology, Biomedical Sciences and Cell & Molecular Biology. All students who major in biology will be required to gain hands-on experience with an advanced topic, either through independent study, research and service-learning projects, or intense, immersion-style coursework. The professional accounting program provides students with the analytical tools and decision-making ability needed to pursue a variety of careers in the accounting profession. Professional accounting majors have the option of advancing their knowledge of a functional field of business beyond the business core curriculum by pursuing a concentration in finance, international business, and marketing.
