The University of Hull is a public research university in Kingston upon Hull, a city in the East Riding of Yorkshire, England. It was founded in 1927 as University College Hull. The University of Hull has been changing the way people think for 90 years. As England’s 14th-oldest university, we have a proud heritage of academic excellence, and a history of creating and inspiring life-changing research. And we have no plans to stop helping to build a better world.
We interpret our mission in a modern context with a renewed focus on excellence in learning, teaching, research and enterprise, a transformative student experience and being an internationally-engaged anchor institution for our surrounding regions.
We’re committed to providing our students with top-class facilities and an ideal environment in which to live and learn, which is why we’re undergoing a £200-million project to dramatically improve our buildings and facilities. Our ambitions are bold and challenging – we’ll pursue our vision with a determination to exceed expectations, to contribute ever greater outcomes towards shaping a better world, and to encourage our students to strive for excellence.
