Students may enter the program in the fall, spring or summer. The MAcc program has six required accounting courses and the student chooses four electives. The MAcc can be completed in 12 months. MAcc program completion, in addition to an undergraduate accounting degree, satisfies Georgia’s educational requirements for CPA licensure. MAcc students are eligible for membership in Beta Alpha Psi – a national accounting and finance honorary society founded in 1919. Beta Alpha Psi sponsors a fall Meet the Firms event. Students meet representatives from many of the public accounting firms that recruit VSU graduates.
Accounting majors work with the newest information systems technology, receive a broad educational foundation, and an intensive education in the business and accounting disciplines. Students develop communication, problem-solving, interpersonal skills, and master the knowledge and skills employers demand.
