Youngstown State University founded in 1908, is an American research university located in Youngstown, Ohio, United States. Youngstown State University—an urban research university—emphasizes a creative, integrated approach to education, scholarship, and service. 

Youngstown State University offers 35 masters programs and over 100 undergraduate majors. Youngstown State University also offers doctoral degrees in educational leadership and physical therapy, as well as a doctorate in mathematics in cooperation with Rhodes University.
